The Missouri Good Sam Club was organized in 1972, as part of the
Good Sam Club, which is the largest camping/recreational vehicle (RV)
club in the world with over 1.8 million members and still growing! There
are over 2,000 active chapters throughout the United States and Canada.
The Good Sam Club got its start in 1966 when a handful of RVers put Good Samaritan bumper stickers on their campers so fellow members would know they could get help along the road. In 2016, Good Sam Club members celebrated our 50th Anniversary! So, the next time you’re traveling down the highway be on the lookout for one of those Good Sam “smiling face” decals. If you find one, you’ve found a friend.
The Missouri Good Sam State Staff consists of two elected positions; the State Director and the State Treasurer, as well as other appointed State Staff. The State Director is appointed for a two-year term by the Good Sam Club based upon the nomination and recommendation of the Missouri State Committee. The State Treasurer position is nominated and elected by the Missouri State Committee. The balance of the State Staff is appointed by the State Director and serves during their term of office. The State Staff assists with state activities and acts as a liaison with the chapters in their assigned areas.
The Missouri Good Sam Club is governed by the State Committee, which is comprised of the Presidents of each Missouri Chapter, along with the State Director and State Staff. The State Director conducts the business of the Missouri Good Sam Club and, along with State Staff, recruits new members and organizes new chapters within the state.
